Kidney stone stent removal?

yesterday, i had a procedure to have an obstructed kidney stone removed from my bladder. i was put under general anesthetic, which was an outpatient surgery in the ER. during the surgery, i had to have a stent placed, for whatever reason. the doctor wants me to come back in about 2 weeks to have the stent removed, and when i looked online, it says that when they take it out, they give you local anesthetic, which to me would be a shot of novacane in my crotch?! cause im not down to do that. someone please inform me how they take it out!? im so concerned :/
